FANTASY FOOTBALL TIER VALUE DRAFT STRATEGY

TIER VALUE DRAFT SYSTEM

  • some Fantasy Football Analysts suggest you use ADP as your guide to determining Draft Value. Do yourself a favour and stop taking their advice!
  • there are another school of Fantasy Football Analysts that believe you should use their Top 200 ranking system. Then select your players based on the highest ranked player available and fill your roster positions. If your goal is to finish in the middle of the pack? Then by all means do that.
  • if you actually want to win then you need to be getting more VALUE with your draft picks than your opponents are. That’s it. It’s that simple! So how do you achieve that? Which position do you draft when? Are there specific Players you need to target?
  • the TIER VALUE DRAFT SYSTEM is extremely effective, and even more importantly easy. The real beauty of it is that it’s totally reactive. Essentially your opponents selections are setting you up to win your draft. The only choices you make are based upon positional preference. The system begins before the draft. You need to organize the players by their position (QB, RB, WR, TE) into Tiers. Tier 1 being the most valuable, Tier 2 the second most, Tier 3 the third, and so on. Some Positions will have more Tiers than others. Generally I include the very best Players at their position in Tier 1. Tier 2 includes Players that could score as many Fantasy points as the Tier 1 players but aren’t as certain. Tier 3 players have a high ceiling as well but come with some risk. Tier 4 and below are usually safe backups, Rookies, and total Wild Cards I might draft late. How many players are in each Tier is up to you. This season I have seen Fantasy Football Analysts have as few as 4 Top Tier Running Backs, or as many as 6. It doesn’t matter what they think. It only matters what you believe. Depending on where you pick in the first Round. That Top Tier of RBs could be important. In the TIER VALUE DRAFT SYSTEM you don’t want to be the first or even second person to draft a Tier 2 player when there are Tier 1 players available at another position. Lets say you have decided that there are 5 Tier 1 RBs in the draft. If you draft 6 then your first pick shouldn’t be an RB. Your choice should be the Player you believe will provide you with the greatest advantage at another position. Tight End is an attractive choice at this point. The Tier 1 Tight Ends scored an average of 8 points per game more than Tier 2 Tight Ends in 2020. That’s a greater advantage than QBs or WRs. Plus there are only 3 or 4 Tier 1 Tight Ends. So you would have a significant advantage over most of your league. In Round 2 you could probably still draft a Tier 2 RB. The same perceived VALUE at a lower price.
  • your goal is to fill your positions by paying less than your opponents, and to maximize your average points per game. In traditional PPR formats with 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, and 1 FLEX. You should rank the importance of the positions in this order.
    RB – TE (Tier 1 only) – WR – QB – TE ( Tier 2+)
  • so whenever possible you should aim to draft one of the last players available from each tier to fill out your roster. For example if there are only a few Tier 2 Running Backs left in your draft when your selection arrives. Grab one then. That way you have paid less for your Tier 2 RB than everyone who picked a Tier 2 RB ahead of you. The only time you pay more is when a higher Tier position you require to fill your roster is still available.

EXAMPLE OF TIER VALUE DRAFT SYSTEM

  • these are my current Quarterback Tiers for 2021.

Tier 1
Patrick Mahomes 2020 #5
Kyler Murray 2020 #2
Josh Allen 2020 #1
Dak Prescott 2020 Injury
Lamar Jackson 2020 #9
*Aaron Rodgers 2020 #3

  • Obviously if you are able to draft one of the Tier 1 QBs for a decent value you should. Just remember that perception isn’t necessarily reality. Most people would assume that Patrick Mahomes was the Top QB last season but actually finished 5th overall in Fantasy points. Utilizing my Tier Value Draft System last Season. I drafted Kyler Murray in the 4th Round and finished with a higher scoring Fantasy Football QB than Patrick Mahomes who went in the 2nd Round of my draft. Any of the QBs in Tier 1 could finish as the best Quarterback in Fantasy Football this Season. Don’t pick favourites, pick VALUE!
  • It still isn’t a guarantee that Aaron Rodgers will play this Season. If you aren’t sure by the time of your Draft then avoid him.

Tier 2 (-4 points per game average)
Tom Brady 2020 #7
Russell Wilson 2020 #6
Ryan Tannehill 2020 #8
Justin Herbert 2020 #8
Joe Burrow 2020 Injury
*Deshaun Watson 2020 #4

  • If I miss out on a Tier 1 QB I make it a priority to draft a Tier 2. You should expect them to perform at a slightly lower rate than the Tier 1 Quarterbacks. Any of these QBs could potentially outperform a Tier 1 QB though, so these are great Value targets in a Draft. In most Fantasy Football drafts I usually land a Tier 2 QB as my starter. The reason for this is because the obvious Top QBs tend to go too early for my liking. Usually you are still able to draft a Tier 2 Quarterback at least 3 Rounds after the last Tier 1 Quarterback gets drafted. That means you have at least 4 Rounds of picks to make up an average of 4 points per game on the Teams that drafted a Tier 1. That could have happened in the second Round if your opponent drafted a QB in the first, and you landed a Top 10 Fantasy Running Back.
  • DeShaun Watson could end up sitting out in Houston, or he could get traded to a contender. Of course he has criminal charges to deal with as well. Best case scenario he ends up in Denver and is a total steal as a Tier 2 QB. Worst case scenario he doesn’t play at all.

Tier 3 (QBs with upside)
Matt Ryan
Matthew Stafford
Daniel Jones
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Jameis Winston

  • Tier 3 has a number of Quarterbacks that could breakout in 2021. If you are a gambler, and lets be honest. If you love Fantasy Football you probably are. Then Tier 3 QBs are very tempting draft targets. They can be drafted relatively late in drafts after you have stocked up on quality RBs, WRs, and a Top Tier TE. I used to have a system I called the Dallas Clark Draft. Dallas Clark was the Travis Kelce equivalent back in the day. If I didn’t have a Top 5 pick in the draft. My first Round target was always Dallas Clark. Then I would draft best player available RB or WR until all of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 QBs were gone. Then I would target whichever Tier 3 QB was in the most favourable position. My team had an advantage at TE against my league, plus it was practically injury proof at RB and WR. In this group the NFC East QBs are the most interesting to me. It’s a weak division, and both QBs have great new targets to throw to.

Tier 4 (wildcards and safe floors)
Trevor Lawrence
Justin Fields
Zach Wilson
Derek Carr
Ben Roethlisberger
Baker Mayfield
Tua Tagovailoa

  • If you have drafted a Tier 4 QB as your starter you might be in trouble. That doesn’t mean you should avoid them entirely though. I am a strong believer in drafting a backup QB. A lot of Fantasy Football analysts would disagree with me but they’re wrong. First of all there’s always a serious QB injury early in the season. Having a backup QB like Roethlisberger or Carr provides piece of mind. Even if your QB goes unscathed. Limiting what’s available off the waiver wire is strategic as well. You also won’t have to scramble during your Starter’s bye week. I have also spot started my Backup against really weak defenses to good effect. If you are really lucky your backup becomes your starter. That happened on quite a few winning teams in Lamar Jackson’s MVP season.

RECENT QUARTERBACK MOCK DRAFT POSITION AVERAGE FROM FANTASY FOOTBALL CALCULATOR WEBSITE

QB1 – Patrick Mahomes 22nd pick
QB2 – Josh Allen 37th pick
QB3 – Kyler Murray 44th pick
QB4 – Lamar Jackson 51rst pick
QB5 – Dak Prescott 58th pick
QB6 – Justin Herbert 63rd pick
QB7 – Aaron Rodgers 66th pick
QB8 – Russell Wilson 70th pick
QB9 – Tom Brady 79th pick
QB10 – Matthew Stafford 88th pick
QB11 – Jalen Hurts 97th pick
QB12 – Ryan Tannehill 100th pick
QB13 – Joe Burrow 107th pick
QB14 – Matt Ryan 124th pick
QB15 – Trevor Lawrence 128th pick
QB16 – Deshaun Watson 130th pick
QB17 – Baker Mayfield 140th pick
QB20 – Ben Roethlisberger 169th pick
QB21 – Justin Fields 179th pick
QB22 – Ryan Fitzpatrick 191rst pick
QB23 – Derek Carr 192nd pick
QB25 – Tua Tagovailoa 198th pick
QB26 – Jameis Winston 207th pick

  • personally I play in 12 team leagues with 15 or 16 Round drafts. So even in a 16 Round draft a number of the QBs I listed in my Tiers wouldn’t get drafted.
  • now examining the Tier 1 QBs from my list. The most expensive Quarterback this season is once again Patrick Mahomes. In a 12 Team league he is going at the end of the second Round. The best buys in Tier 1 are Dak Prescott and Lamar Jackson going in the fifth Round. I am ignoring Aaron Rodgers for now because of his uncertain situation. How much better would Patrick Mahomes need to be to justify picking him 3 Rounds earlier? Chances are he won’t perform significantly better enough. Using the Tier Value Draft System there’s a good chance that any Team that drafted in Round five had a chance at a Tier 1 QB. IT PAYS TO WAIT!
  • Always be aware of which teams picking ahead of you have filled roster positions. If the teams picking ahead of you have already drafted a QB then you should be good to land the next QB on your list.
  • looking at the Tier 2 Quarterbacks, Herbert went in the early 6th Round. That’s a heavy price to pay for a Tier 2 QB. The fact that 2 of my Tier 1 QBs went just one Round earlier increases how valuable those picks were. Both Ryan Tannehill and Joe Burrow fell to the 8th Round. I would say that’s a competitive price for a Tier 2 QB. You gain 3 Rounds of VALUE against the cheapest Tier 1 QBs, and an enormous 6 Rounds of VALUE against the Team that selected Patrick Mahomes in the second Round! Try to imagine how much better Patrick Mahomes would have to be than Tannehill or Burrow to justify the cost? 12 points per game maybe? Is that a realistic ask?
  • once again considering that Tannehill and Burrow went near the beginning and end of that Round. Any of the Teams involved in those drafts had a fair shot of waiting until the rest of the Tier got picked to select them. IT PAYS TO WAIT!

NFL Fantasy Free Agency – Sports Fanatics play Fantasy SF-39

Serious fantasy implications

(Cobe Life has recently switched to a new Subscription service.  I strongly advise current Subscribers to resubmit their follow request)

This is a huge year for Fantasy Free Agency.  Of course a lot of the attention will be on the group of Quarterbacks that are available.  I’ve already made my predictions for what might happen with them in my Quarterbacks Carousel blog entry.  In this article I’ll highlight a few of the more intriguing Free Agents that could seriously effect the Fantasy Football outlook for next Season.  There are some really intriguing possibilities that have the potential to transform franchises.

Wide Receivers

Allen Robinson & Marqise Lee – it wasn’t that long ago that the Jacksonville Jaguars duo was arguably one of the best Wide Receiver tandems in football.  Even though the Jaguars had a great Season, and even won a playoff game.  It wasn’t because of the play of their two Free Agent Wide Receivers.  Marqise Lee had a pedestrian Season of just over 700 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Allen Robinson spent the almost the entire Season on IR.  When healthy Allen Robinson is the better Wide Receiver.  He can be a true star in the NFL, and I expect the Jacksonville Jaguars to resign him.  Marqise Lee will probably find himself wearing a new jersey next Season.  Any team interested in adding a speedy Receiver with good hands could make an offer.  I wouldn’t be surprised if the New York Jets, New England Patriots, or Dallas Cowboys make a play.

Sammy Watkins – people were stunned when the Bills dealt Sammy Watkins to the L.A. Rams.  Word got out that Sammy wasn’t interested in remaining a Buffalo Bill, so only one Season away from Free Agency the Bills decided to deal him.  Sammy Watkins didn’t have the kind of Season we were used to seeing from him.  It took a while for Goff to get on the same page with the ridiculously quick Wide Receiver.  The one thing that wasn’t missing from Sammy Watkins repertoire was his big play potential as evidenced by his 8 touchdowns on only 39 receptions. That’s a touchdown every five times he catches the ball.  That’s absolutely insane!  I would expect a Season of catching balls from Goff, and an off season to get their timing on point will turn Watkins into a true number 1 Wide Receiver once again.  The L.A. Rams should sign him, and after a couple subpar Seasons they’ll get him for a deal.

Terrelle Pryor – will the real Terrelle Pryor please stand up.  After a break out Season in Cleveland in 2016.  Terrelle Pryor just couldn’t get it going in Washington.  A former quarterback Terrelle Pryor has the ability to adjust to new systems relatively quickly.  The Redskins are notorious for looking outside their own locker room when adding talent.  That makes it very unlikely that Terrelle Pryor will be a Redskin next Season.  There are industry insiders that have said the Panthers, Steelers, and Seahawks are all interested.  Between those three I see the Carolina Panthers as the best fit.

Danny Amendola – lets be honest here.  Amendola might have had his last quality Season.  He’s not getting any younger, and he has a reputation for being brittle.  In my opinion the only team that might have some genuine interest in Danny Amendola is the New England Patriots.  He will probably get a two year contract for very little money as a security blanket in case Edelman gets hurt again.  It doesn’t sound too appealing does it?  Well actually for Amendola it might be exactly what he wants.  Best case scenario he sees maybe 25% of the offensive snaps.  The Patriots win another Superbowl with him on the roster.  Due to his injury concerns, and veteran status he gets to take it easy at practice, and during training camps.  The alternative is to call it quits.  Hang up the cleats and retire.  After having one of his better Seasons i don’t think he’s ready.  I see him as a Patriot for at least one more Season.

Jordan Matthews – this one has me scratching my head.  We haven’t had much of a sample size to evaluate Jordan Matthews.  One thing is for sure.  The Revamped Bills head office was quick to clean house, and build their team.  Acquiring Jordan Matthews was one of their moves.  So it remains to be seen if they stick with their guy, or accept that he was a bust.  The good news is that if they decide to keep him.  He definitely won’t cost much.  The bad news is that there are quite a few teams looking for Wide Receiver help.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Matthews takes a few calls from some other teams.  There could be a lot of teams interested including the 49ers, Dolphins, Browns, Chiefs, and Redskins.  I believe that there’s a very good chance that he ends up in Miami.

Running Backs

Dion Lewis & Rex Burkhead – here’s the problem that everyone faces almost every Season.  Are the Patriots Running Backs any good, or are they just a product of a good system that forces defences to focus on containing Tom Brady?  Obviously last Season LeGarrette Blount proved that he was for real.  I’m willing to bet that Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead aren’t.  I’m not saying that they aren’t good Running Backs.  I’m just saying that neither one is more than a platoon or backup player.  Which suits the Patriots just fine.  Their platoon system prevents any one Running Back on their roster from standing out.  That in turn makes resigning them relatively easy on the cheap.  So in most cases that’s what happens.  Only this year things are a little different.  A number of Patriots coaches have left for greener pastures with other franchises.  One such franchise that could use a serviceable Running Back is the Detroit Lions.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they make a move to land one of these and offer them a larger role in the offence.  I see Dion Lewis as the more versatile of the two, and could be wearing the Lions Blue and White next Season.

Carlos Hyde – a lot of people have doubts about whether or not Carlos Hyde is a true number one Running Back in the NFL.  I will go on record as saying that I don’t have any doubt.  Carlos Hyde is definitely a number one Running Back.  What people have forgotten is that until recently the quarterback situation in San Francisco has been a mess.  Hopefully for Carlos Hyde, and the San Francisco 49ers signing Jimmy Garoppolo to a long term contract has fixed that.  With a quality signal caller taking the snaps, Carlos Hyde should find a little more running room.  I expect the 49ers to sign him because having a veteran Running Back that knows the system will only Jimmy Garoppolo progress smoothly.

Le’Veon Bell – look I wasn’t even going to talk about Le’Veon Bell because it’s pretty obvious what will happen in this case.  On second thought though I realized it actually isn’t completely obvious.  There are two scenarios that could play out.  Scenario 1 is that the Pittsburgh Steelers pay him what he wants and he continues to slice his way through defences.  Scenario 2 is that the Steelers and Bell fail to reach an agreement and he holds out.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he was willing to sit out the Season.  Bell has been the most consistent Running Back during his current contract.  Unless the Steelers are willing to make him the highest paid Running Back.  There could be a serious impact on Fantasy Football next Season.

Jerick McKinnon – after Dalvin Cook went down last Season.  Jerick McKinnon finally showed some of that explosiveness many of us expected to see right out of college.  Unfortunately for him he will be relegated to being a backup running back once the Season starts.  Minnesota will be interested in paying him as one, but there will be other teams that recognized his star potential.  Possible fits are with the Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants, Houston Texans, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  I would see the Houston Texans as a perfect fit.  The addition of McKinnon could really make for an explosive offence.

Tight Ends

Jimmy Graham – Jimmy Graham’s career plays out like a highlight reel and last Season was no exception.  10 touchdowns and it took a while for Jimmy to really get rolling. Jimmy Graham strikes me as a bit of a Mercenary.  He will go wherever the money takes him, but I don’t believe he’s interested in playing for a losing franchise.  The Seattle Seahawks just missed the playoffs last Season so that might just be the push Jimmy needed to look elsewhere.  Some may argue that him and Russell Wilson were really beginning to click last Season.  Well it wasn’t like he didn’t click with Drew Brees in New Orleans.  It will take a fair amount of money to keep him, and Seattle is limited with cap space.  The teams with the deepest pockets that Jimmy could be interested in are the L.A. Rams, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Houston Texans.  The only one of those three with a truly veteran Quarterback is of course the Patriots so I see him there.

Tyler Eifert – I’ll go on record as saying that Tyler Eifert is a total bust.  The Bengals know it, and unfortunately for Eifert so does everyone else.  The bengals won’t keep him unless it’s for peanut money.  He’s most likely to land on a team looking to start a rookie quarterback, or first year starter.  That way he can serve as a big physical target across the middle as the rookie develops.  That limits his potential landing spots to Cleveland, Houston, San Francisco, or Cincinnati.  I believe Cincinnati re-signs him for a song.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins – it took a while but Austin Seferian-Jenkins showed some signs of brilliance last season.  The New York Jets have some of the deepest pockets right now.  Although you should expect a large portion of their cap space to go to signing a marquee quarterback.  Still i expect them to have enough money left over to keep Seferian-Jenkins.  I fully expect him to be wearing Jets Green next Season.

Consistency wins

In both of my featured Fantasy Football leagues the highest average scoring team in the League won the Championship.  All is right in the Fantasy universe.  If you have played Fantasy Football for a few years you will know that that isn’t always the case.  It’s Fantasy Football, so absolutely anything can happen.  What makes the right thing happening so special this Season is that my Grid Warriors team was the highest scoring team in the Gridiron Pros Fantasy Football League.  Which means I have retaken the Championship in my longest running Keeper league.  😁 I managed a fourth place finish in the other feature league.  I lost the semi-final to the eventual Champion Texas Proud.  Trust me when I tell you that it didn’t come as a surprise.  I predicted them to win it all Mid Season.

Top 6 Final standings

Gridiron Pros

True Fanatics

Coming out on top as the eventual Champion this Season was especially special.  There were an unprecedented amount of Star Player injuries, underperforming, and overperforming teams, and amazing rookie seasons.  Who would have predicted that the Jacksonville Jaguars would make the playoffs, and the Dallas Cowboys or Denver Broncos wouldn’t.  Some of the top performing Quarterbacks at the end of the Season were backups at the beginning.  Finishing first this year means you stayed one step ahead of it all.

Dawn of a new age

I hinted in my last Fantasy post that Fantasy Football has been dramatically changed.   For at least the last five Seasons the primary focus of Fantasy drafts have been about Running Backs.  Year after year it seemed like the number of quality Running Backs continuously diminished.  More teams adopted the Running Back by committee approach.  Utilizing two or three Running Backs each and every game.  Reducing the value of each back to fantasy irrelevance.  The NFL has slowly transitioned into a passing league.  Further limiting the value of Running Backs.  Their increased chance of injury coupled with the concussion protocol system means that most of the top Running Backs will miss at least a few games.  If you didn’t draft a quality RB early you were really hoping to get lucky with a backup, or fantasy relevant third down back.  Well next year things are going to be a lot different.  The recent crop of star rookie Running Backs, backups that excelled when given an opportunity, and teams that have switched to a Run heavy offence will dramatically change next Season’s draft.  Coming in to this Season there was only about 10 potential high value Running Backs.  In a 12 team League which I consider to be the most competitive that left very few to go around.  By the time you draft next summer things will be much different.  I can count on at least 20 high quality Running Backs being available in next Season’s draft, and that’s not including Rookies.  If Ezekiel Elliott, Leonard Fournette, and Kareem Hunt haven’t convinced you how important a Rookie Running Back can be to your team then you probably shouldn’t be playing Fantasy Football next Season.  There’s at least another 10 after the first 20 that will be fantasy relevant, and could help you win a Championship.  Gone are the days of the First Round Running Back pick, or you’re in trouble drafts.  With that many quality Running Backs available you can afford to wait until the third Round before you draft your first RB.  It is my belief that the NFL currently has more star power now at every skill position than it’s had in over a decade.  The only skill position that’s at all lacking is Tight End, and it’s the least important in Fantasy.  My Grid Warriors team won this Season with a combination of Charles Clay, Hunter Henry, Eric Ebron, and Austin Hooper.  That’s how unimportant it is.  Due to the wealth of talent there’s only one draft strategy that’s viable in my opinion next Season.

Take the best Player available!

Position picking will be far less important next year than in years previous.  Where I used to be concerned about drafting a Top 10 Running Back in either Round 1 or 2, it won’t matter now.  If you drafted a stud Wide Receiver in Round 3, and when your fourth Round pick comes around there’s another great WR.  Don’t even think twice about it, draft him.  I used to stack my bench with Running Backs in case my first or second rounder went down with an injury.  Trust me when I tell you that I won’t be doing it next year.  There are so many quality backups that I’ll pick one up off the waiver wire when I need one.  Managers would stress over when to draft a Top tier QB.  Well let me be the first to tell you that next Season should have you stress free.  There were so many great QB performances this year that picking one early doesn’t make sense at all.  Next Season should actually be better.  I guarantee that a number of Backup Quarterbacks that were given a chance to strut their stuff will be full time starters on another squad nest Season.  It was already leaning that way the last couple of Seasons.  So much so that I was able to draft Matthew Stafford in the 10th Round this Season as my primary Starter, and used both Tyrod Taylor as a backup early in the Season, and Blake Bortles later in the Season.  Blake Bortles was in my lineup for the Semi-final and Championship games by the way.  Blake Bortles!  As next Season draws closer I’ll go into far more depth about each position, and why drafting the best available is your only option for success.

Championship Week – Sports Fanatics play Fantasy SF-36

Then there were two

In both of my featured leagues, one of the teams in the finals was obviously going to make it there.  In the True Fanatics league Texas Proud continued their Season of dominance by knocking me out in the semi-final.  Their final test to cap off a truly great Season with a Championship comes against Raider in the North.  In the Gridiron Pros League my team the Grid Warriors easily made their way into the Championship game.  My opponent beat the Top seed Blitzkrieg in order to earn their spot against me.  For the third time this Season I will face my division rival Swaggy B, but this time it’s for the Championship.  I defeated him easily the first two times but this time won’t be as easy.  I’ll be without the best Fantasy Wide Receiver in the league Antonio Brown because of his injury.  To make matters worse another one of my Top Wide Receivers Davante Adams is in concussion protocol.  Beating Swaggy B won’t be as simple as rolling with the best players in Fantasy.  Matchups will be a key path to victory.

Although there are a few similar names amongst the four Championship rosters.  The four rosters have very different strengths and weaknesses.  Of course every team’s roster has gone through major changes over the course of the Season.  What every one of these roster does have in common is a Top 5 RB and a Top 5 WR.  It just goes to show you how important it is to have a balanced roster.

Looking ahead

As the 2017 fantasy Season comes to an end, I’m more excited than I’ve ever been about what’s to come next year. You are probably wondering why.  Things have happened across the league this year that has made draft strategies of the last five years obsolete.  I’ll go into detail in my next post.  For those of you in the Championship game in your leagues, Good Luck!

Cobe Life Christmas Gifts Top 8

It’s getting close to crunch time!

Cobe Life has recently switched to a new Subscription service.  I strongly advise current Subscribers to resubmit their follow request)

Loading

By now you have probably walked the equivalent of a half marathon at the mall.  I know I’m beginning to feel like one of the Knights Templar on a Grail quest.  Each year it seems to get a little more difficult to find the right gift.  While the malls seem to get a lot more chaotic.  The reason for this is actually quite simple if take a moment to think about it.  With each thoughtful gift you purchase for someone special.  The next time you purchase a gift for that person, one of the possible items is already off the list.  What was once obvious, has now become obscure.  Should the holiday season be this stressful?  I should hope not.  So in the spirit of giving I’ve decided to put together a list of potential gifts you might have overlooked.  Gifts that will potentially surprise, show consideration, or just make things a little easier for the recipient.  So without any further ado, here’s my list.

The Top 8

1 – Memory card

Digital devices have become an integral part of almost everyone’s lives.  Cellphones, tablets, digital readers, digital cameras, and media players find their way into our pockets, and purses.  There was a time not too long ago that 16gb was more than enough space for anything.  16gb is barely enough for the operating system, some music, your favourite apps, and a few photos on your cellphone these days.  It might seem like a small thing, but a Memory card will definitely be appreciated.

2 – Orthotic insoles

I’ve lived a fair amount of my life with sore feet.  When I was younger I played soccer, ran track, was a street style skateboarder, and snowboarder.  Needless to say I did a significant amount of damage to my feet.  A few years ago I was told that I needed Orthotics.  From the very first step I took with the new insoles I wondered how I could have ever taken a step without them.  The change was so dramatic, and my demeanor so improved that my wife decided to try them.  Although she doesn’t require Orthotics, the improved comfort, and additional support make every day easier.  This is one of the surprise gifts I was talking about.  The recipient might not think much of the gift at first.  Convince them to wear them while fighting through crowds during boxing week, and I guarantee they’ll thank you.

3 – Coffee warmer

Who doesn’t know somebody that really loves their coffee?  For a lot of people, their day doesn’t begin until they’ve had their cup.  These are busy times, and many of us lead busy lives.  In between each satisfying sip of our favourite brew we might be getting ready for work, or already at work getting prepared for our day.  It doesn’t take long for the morning brew to get cold.  So what do we do?  We risk scalding our throats by drinking our first coffee of the day ridiculously fast.  But what if you didn’t have to?  With a coffee warmer on your desk at work or the kitchen table at home.  You could go about your morning routine without worrying the coffee is getting cold.

4 – Cellphone Camera Lens

Unless you are actually on holiday, the chances are slim you have a camera with you.  Well you do have a camera of sorts.  The cameras built into our cellphones have significantly improved over the years.  The picture quality is so good that carrying a traditional camera is almost unnecessary.  Unless you are really after high quality zoom, or macro photography shots.  Well with the addition of a simple clip on lens, small enough to carry in your pocket.  Your cellphone will gain some of the capabilities of a full size camera.  Instagram fans will thank you, and flood your wall with photos.

5 – Sports Cap or Toque

This probably seems obvious to a lot of you.  If you know a true sports fan.  Chances are good that you’ve seen them wearing a Cap or Toque with their team’s logo.  That’s exactly why I wouldn’t consider this an obvious gift.  Why get someone a gift that they already have?  Because they will smile wide and thank you for it. That’s why!  As most of you already know, I’m a true sports fanatic.  As a fan of the Denver Broncos I currently have two Caps, and a Toque.  My father is from the Netherlands so I support their soccer team.  I currently have four Netherlands soccer Caps.  Each one is slightly different, and I wear them all.  This is the one gift on this list that you definitely can’t go wrong with.  When in doubt, get them what they already love.

6 – Touch Screen Gloves

I actually got a pair of these as a gift a couple years ago.  They have quickly become my favourite gloves.  I couldn’t even tell you where my other gloves are.  I know that I have at least five pairs gloves, but my cellphone is so important to me I wouldn’t even consider wearing the others.  The original Touch Screen Gloves were about as simple as can be.  Now there are all sorts of styles to go with any outfit.  Everyone knows someone that could benefit from having a pair of these.

7 – Heated Scarf

Do I own one?  No, it’s definitely not the most masculine of gifts.  Hardcore hipsters aside, a Heated Scarf would be a welcome gift for any woman that has to brave the bitter cold of winter.  Have I tried one?  Yes, for the purposes of this article I figured it was important to get a first hand feel for what it’s like.  Even though I’m in great shape, and a little cold weather doesn’t really bother a man like me.  I found the Heated Scarf to be quite comfortable, and even soothing.  At least for the extremely short period of time that I actually wore it.  Still I can definitely recommend it.

8 – Saxx underwear

A few years ago I saw Saxx underwear for the first time while watching an episode of Dragons’ Den.  Men’s underwear specifically designed with a built in pouch to keep your family jewels from chaffing while playing sports, or just a long day at work.  The idea seemed simple enough, and being an active individual I was intrigued.  A couple years later while shopping I saw them for sale at a retail store for the first time.  I just had to try them so I bought a pair.  Saxx aren’t the most inexpensive of underwear.  One pair of Saxx cost what three pairs of boxer briefs used to cost me.  After wearing that first pair for one day.  I immediately returned to the store and bought the remaining three in my size.  Today the only underwear I wear is Saxx.  That’s how much of a game changer this underwear is to me.  They’ve expanded their lines to include compression sports briefs, and long johns as well.  Before you ask I do have some of both.  I’ve sung their praises to so many people that they should have made me a brand ambassador by now.  If you know an athletic guy, don’t hesitate.  Get him a pair of Saxx.

Gridiron Pros Fantasy League Playoff picture – Sports Fanatics play Fantasy SF-35

Wow what a Season!

The final week of the Season determined which team finished first overall.  It determined which two teams would get the first round byes.  It determined who would snatch sixth place.  There was more on the line in the final week than I’ve ever experienced before.

Playoff Team Seedings

1 – Blitzkrieg: 9-4, 1591.26 points

Blitzkrieg had to beat the surging division rival, and last Season’s Champion For Whom the Bell Tolls for to retain their number 1 seed.  If they lost they would have fallen to third place, and had to play a quarter-final match.  Instead they get a well deserved break to try and figure out their roster issues.  They have only averaged 118 points per game over the last three games.  It’s been enough to compete, but is it enough to win a Championship?

2 – Grid Warriors: 8-5, 1770.09 points

All my team does is put up points week after week.  A full 160 total points more than the next closest Team for the Season.  Regular Season dominance doesn’t always mean post Season success though.  Averaging 142 points per game over the last three games is a good sign.  22 points per game better than the next closest Playoff team.  Do I feel confident?  Yes I do.  The only losses I’ve suffered all Season have been to breakout Fantasy performances.  As long as I don’t run into one of those, I will be the Champion.

3 – Pixie’s Pirates: 8-5, 1609.98 points

Pixie’s Pirates were my pick to win the championship at the beginning of the Season.  Injuries made their trip to the playoffs a little more difficult.  Losing David Johnson to injury really opened up opportunities for everyone else.  Their Roster is so stacked that I would consider them to be my most difficult opponent in the Playoffs.  They have only averaged 113 points per game over the last three games.  They would have averaged more but poor starting roster choices have limited their scores.   Starting the right group of Players each week will determine their fate.

4 – Swaggy B: 8-5, 1457.71 points

Swaggy B has pushed me for the Grid Central title all year.  In the end I was able to beat him in our Week 11 match, and that was the difference.  I’m glad that the only way we will meet again this Season is in the final.  Swaggy B is averaging 120 points per game over the last three games.  More importantly their team is fully healthy.  Although I wouldn’t consider them a favourite to win the championship.  They definitely fill the roll of Dark horse.

5 – Because you’re a Lannister: 8-5, 1357.88 points

The results of the Week 13 games hurt Because you’re a Lannister’s final seeding worse than anyone else.  They went from second overall with a first Round bye, to fifth facing a surging Playoff ready Team.  Averaging only 93 points per game over the last three games.  I would be surprised if they advanced past the quarter-finals.  Their only hope to advance is a huge game from LeSean McCoy.  Facing the lowly Colts it’s possible that McCoy could put up 40+ points.

6 – Stoniestars: 6-7, 1466.83 points

Ignore the regular season record.  Stoniestars finished the Season with more total points than Because you’re a Lannister, and Swaggy B.  They are averaging 120 points per game over the last three.  Cobe Life is the only team averaging more.  Their Quarter-finals opponent has made some poor roster choices lately.  Stoniestars looks primed to make a run for the title.  Last Season it took a late surge by For Whom the Bell Tolls for, and a little bit of luck to win the championship.  Are Stoniestars this year’s For Whom the Bell Tolls for?

Quarter-finals

Pixie’s Pirates vs Stoniestars

I just finished describing Stoniestars surging push to make the playoffs.  They are on a three game winning streak.  Well I don’t believe that another Cinderella Season is in the works.  Against any other team I might have picked Stoniestars to win.  Pixie’s Pirates is just way too strong.  I’m guessing that they will make the correct roster decisions, and post the highest scoring total this week.

Winner: Pixie’s Pirates

Swaggy B vs Because you’re a Lannister

Barring any significant injuries to key Players on Swaggy B’s roster.  I don’t think Because you’re a Lannister is packing enough star power to get the win.  This is Fantasy Football, and anything can happen.  I just don’t see the likelihood that everything goes wrong in just one week.

Winner: Swaggy B

True Fanatics League playoff picture – Sports Fanatics play Fantasy SF-34

How it stands

1 – Texas Proud:  11-2, 1638.34 points

Finishing as the Regular Season Champion a full 2 wins ahead of second place.  Texas Proud has put together a dominant Season.  With the most points accumulated by far, and entering the Playoffs averaging 128 points per game over their last three.  The road to the True Fanatics League Championship goes through them.  The combination of key Players from the L.A. Chargers, and Kansas City Chiefs has proven to be a winning combination.  Only one team in the Playoffs have averaged a better score over the last 3 games.  Texas Proud is still my pick to win it all.

2 – Aegon Targaryan: 9-4, 1347.27 points

At 9-4 Aegon Targaryan easily won their division, and earned the first round bye.  Selecting the correct roster each week will be a key component to their continued success.  With the second lowest total points for the Season, and the lowest average points per week over the last three games with 95.  Aegon Targaryan is going to need a little help from the Fantasy Gods to win the championship.  The one real advantage they have going in, is that they wouldn’t face Texas Proud until the final.

3 – Raider in the North: 7-6, 1293.10 points

Raider in the North earned the third place position with a Week 13 win over Cobe Life.  That match would decide who has the unfortunate possibility of facing Texas Proud in the Semi-final.  With the win Raider in the North has the seemingly much easier route to the Championship.  They only need to beat the sixth place team, and then the poorly performing Aegon Targaryan team to reach the finals.  They have averaged 22 points more per game than Aegon Targaryan over the last three games with 117.

4 – Cobe Life: 7-6, 1486.19 points

Losing that game to Raider in the North might be the nail in the coffin.  I was really hoping to avoid having to face Texas Proud until the final.  My team has faired well over the last three weeks, but difficult matches has limited my success.  Cobe Life is averaging 115 points per game over the last three.  If I want to win the championship I’ll need to score better than that.

5 – The Bottom Feeders: 7-6, 1389.31 points

The Bottom Feeders haven’t had the easiest trip to the playoffs.  They’ve had to deal with a lot of adversity all Season.  Losing the final game of the season cost them the easier route to the Championship as well.  They’ve only averaged 108 points per game over the last three.  They are probably looking at their road to the Championship, and wondering what’s the point?  They have to beat the two highest scoring teams in the league just to reach the final.  Still anything is possible.

6 – In Dak we Trust: 6-7, 1347.20 points

So In Dak we Trust has been able to sneak into the playoffs by winning their final game of the regular season.  That’s no small feat considering they had to beat Texas Proud to do it.  That’s right.  Not only did they defeat the number 1 seed.  They have the highest scoring average over the last three weeks with 133.  At this point your Regular Season record doesn’t mean squat.  In Dak we Trust is the hottest team in the True Fanatics League right now.  If it’s all about peaking at the right time.  Then In Dak we Trust might be ready to win the championship.

Quarter-finals

Raider in the North vs In Dak we Trust

Raider in the North was probably happy earning the third place spot.  In doing so though they suffered a costly loss.  Rob Gronkowski let his emotions get the best of him, and it looks like he’ll miss the quarter-final game.  I expect the loss of Gronkowski gives In Dak we Trust a significant advantage.  They will post another high score, and get the win.

Winner: In Dak we Trust

Cobe Life vs The Bottom Feeders

On paper this looks like a very even matchup.  It’s when you look at who’s likely to be unavailable for this match that things become predictable.  Ezekiel Elliot is still serving his suspension.  Zach Ertz has entered concussion protocol, and both Roethlisberger and Cousins have difficult matchups.  It’s an unfortunate situation for The Bottom Feeders, but a bonus for me.  It’s not an easy week for me either, but Cobe Life has  better bench Players.  I believe that will be the difference.

Winner: Cobe Life

Good luck to all of you, and for those of you that didn’t make the playoffs, thanks for a competitive Season.

Playoff Strategy – Sports Fanatics play Fantasy SF-32

As long as you are in

For the majority of Fantasy Leagues there are only 3 games left until the Playoffs.  With the kind of injury filled, high scoring rookies, and unpredictable Quarterback play we’ve had this season.  There’s a very good chance that a record of 7-6 can get you into the playoffs of your league.  That doesn’t necessarily mean that you had an average Season either.  I expect there to be some powerhouse Fantasy teams at 7-6.  Once you are in the Playoffs, winning is more about selecting the correct Players each week.  Sounds obvious but it isn’t.

The hard choices

During the Regular Season you’ll hear Fantasy analysts constantly tell you to roll with your high draft pick Players.  I’d tell you to avoid overthinking things.  Keep it simple.  If Todd Gurley is on your Fantasy Team just play him.  Well things can be very different in the Playoffs.  What if Todd Gurley is against the division rival Seattle Seahawks?  The Seahawks excel at stopping the run.  If you also have Adrian Peterson on your bench, and he’s facing the San Francisco 49ers.  A team he scorched for over 100 yards earlier in the Season.  The choice should be Adrian Peterson.  His potential ceiling is much higher that week.

Don’t ignore your Defence

Quite a few Fantasy Managers will draft a strong Defence in the 11th or 12th Round, and just roll with them all Season.  Well that’s a fine Strategy during the Regular Season.  In the Playoffs though, things get a little different.  For Managers that already stream Defences you know what I’m talking about.  You want the best possible Defence against the worst possible Offence each week.  I’ll try to hold on to a high waiver position entering the Playoffs so I can grab that Defence that’s playing against a troubled Offence.  This year the teams I’m hoping to take advantage of are the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers.  The Giants Offence is totally hindered by injuries.  The other three teams have serious issues at Quarterback.  Find the right Defence against any of those teams, and they could end up as one of your top 3 scoring Players on your Fantasy Team that week.

Winter is not your friend

Something that I have noticed over the years that so many Fantasy Managers ignore during the Playoffs is the effects of weather on your Fantasy Players.  A little snow can ruin your quick cut Running Back’s day.  Your Quarterback that creates plays by escaping the pocket could be in big trouble if the field is slick.  Their are top tier Wide Receivers that are known to have issues catching balls in the cold.  You need to be aware of these situations.  I know we rarely think about our Kicker’s impact.  Trust me, you will when your Kicker finishes with negative points because you started him against Buffalo during a snow storm.  During the Playoffs I try to start Players who are scheduled to play in a dome, or somewhere down south. I don’t have to worry about a sudden storm, or temperature drop that reduces the chances of having a decent game to below zero.

Add depth

Nobody in the NFL likes to admit this, but there can be some intentionally vicious play in the final few weeks of the NFL Season.  During the Fantasy Playoffs NFL teams will face off that have the potential to face each other again in the upcoming Playoffs.  Statistically the greatest number of injuries happen during the first three weeks of the NFL Season.  The second largest number of injuries happen during the last three weeks of the Regular Season.  The NFL will sugar-coat it by saying that the grueling regular season takes it’s toll, and Players just break down.  Watch the key matchups with Playoff implications, and pay close attention to the late hits, head hunting, and low tackles.  One leg injury, or key Player knocked into concussion protocol could mean the difference between playing for a division Championship, or ending up as a wild card team.  Take a good look at your roster, and figure out which skill position would handicap you the most if a Player went down.  Do yourself a favour, and either pick up a serviceable Player as a backup, or make a trade right now for a potential Starter in case your guy gets injured.  Don’t wait for an injury to happen.  Cause when it does, your Competitors will be far less likely to make a deal.

Good luck in the Playoffs!

A Season of Injuries – Sports Fanatics play Fantasy SF-31

Somebody call the school nurse

This is beginning to become a serious problem.  Injury has always been a part of football.  Not a week passes without somebody taking a trip to the hospital.  The most susceptible to it are the guys who battle it out in the trenches.  The offensive and defensive linemen.  Losing a Left tackle to injury can have an adverse affect on the Fantasy production of a few Players, but it doesn’t create holes in your roster.  Just like the loss of a starting Middle Linebacker can have a positive affect on opposing Running Backs or Slot Receivers.  Of course it doesn’t affect your roster much, if at all.  This Season has seen a serious increase in the number of Fantasy relevant skill Players going down to injury.  It’s the worst I’ve seen as a Fantasy Football enthusiast.

Fallen Stars

Aaron Rodgers – Considered by many football analysts to be the best player in the NFL today.  The Green Bay Packers looked like a team that could potentially win their division.  Now with Aaron Rodgers lost to injury they could potentially finish last.  The loss of Aaron Rodgers is huge in Fantasy.  In order to have him on your roster.  You would have had to spend a high draft pick on him, while your opponents were snatching up the top Running Backs.  So you didn’t just lose your top QB, but missed on a high end RB as well.  In both of my featured Fantasy Leagues the Manager with Aaron Rodgers on their roster is essentially out of the running.

Deshaun Watson – Watson wasn’t expected to have the kind of immediate fantasy impact he had once he took over the starting job.  So in all likelihood he didn’t cost anyone a high draft pick.  Well except me of course.  I traded away a second round pick for next season to acquire him in my Keeper league.  It’s a major loss for Houston.  They looked like a team that finally had a chance to outscore opponents.  Watson was a great late Round pick, or smart waiver wire acquisition for most.  Unfortunately whatever you gave up to get him is probably worth a lot more now.

David Johnson – The consensus number one pick in Fantasy Football didn’t last long.  There’s still a slim chance he returns from injury to potentially make a difference in your Playoffs.  Really big emphasis on slim though.  In his absence his replacement has actually gained some Fantasy relevance.  If you took a flyer on Adrian Peterson, well lucky you.  For the Manager that drafted David Johnson first overall, well better luck next year.

Odell Beckham Jr – Easily one of the most exciting Wide Receivers in the league.  The loss of OBJ seriously hurts the New York Giants chances of making the playoffs, and whoever drafted him in your league as well.  Predicted to finish the Season as a top 3 Wide Receiver, OBJ definitely left a glaring hole on somebody’s roster.

Julian Edelman – Predicted by most to have another great year.  Especially after his great performance in last year’s Superbowl run.  Edelman didn’t get the opportunity to even play a single game in the regular season.  A huge blow to the defending Champion New England Patriots.  His injury happened late enough in preseason for his injury to start some Fantasy teams on the back foot as well.

Dalvin Cook – Going into this season there were four Rookie Running Backs of particular interest to Fantasy Managers.  Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey, Joe Mixon, and Dalvin Cook.  The two with the most obvious opportunity we’re Fournette and Cook.  Fournette was obvious because the Jaguars spent the fourth overall pick on him.  Cook was obvious because the Vikings let Adrian Peterson go in the off season.  Both of them got off to great starts.  Unfortunately for Cook his season was cut short by injury.  Unfortunately for his Fantasy owners RB depth is getting increasingly shallow in the NFL.

Pierre Garcon – When Garcon went to San Francisco I couldn’t help but see huge PPR potential.  I don’t think I was alone in that.  As a mid to late Round pick Garcon was producing way above his draft position.  Of course all good things come to an end.  So Managers will have to settle for only one WR1 on their rosters.

Backups of backups

I’m actually stunned by some of the Players I’ve had to start, or play against in Fantasy this year.  Orleans Darkwa, Ju Ju Smith-Schuster, Marquise Lee, Cooper Kupp, and Jermaine Kearse have all been Fantasy relevant because of injuries to other players.  The waiver wire has been like prospecting for gold this season.  Every week there’s the potential for another breakout player because of an injury to a star player.  I usually pick up only one or two key Skill Players off waivers each Season.  This year I’m trying to land the next backup, soon to be starter every week.

It’s still Football

The last decade has seen a huge increase in the number of additional rules implemented to protect the safety of the Players.   The reality is that no matter how hard you try.  Football will always be a dangerous game.  Very few injuries ever happened as the result of vicious tackles.  The worst injuries happen by total accident.  Simply planting your foot wrong when trying to make a quick cut can result in a torn Achilles, or ACL.  Outside of being totally lucky, the only true path to victory is roster depth.  That applies to actual NFL teams, or your Fantasy team.

True Fanatics week 8 Power Rankings – Sports Fanatics play Fantasy SF-30

Can anyone Challenge Texas Proud

Other than the one loss due in part to Bye week replacements, and a poor showing from key Players.  Texas Proud has appeared totally dominant this Season.  The good news is that they can be beaten.  The better news is that the cream of the League has risen to the top.  This week’s Power Rankings will reflect the sudden success of some of the higher scoring teams.

Power Rankings

1 – Texas Proud

Currently ranked 1rst overall with a 7-1 record, and 1007.23 total points for the Season.

Texas Proud is just flat out dominant.  They have star Players at each and every position. At Quarterback they have Drew Brees. At Running Back they have Kareem Hunt. At Wide Receiver they have DeAndre Hopkins, at Tight End they have Travis Kelce. Even their Defence is solid with the Broncos.  They obviously remain the team to beat.

2 – The Bottom Feeders

Currently ranked 6th overall with a 4-4 record, and 888.87 total points for the Season.

Don’t let their name fool you.  The Bottom Feeders are stacked with top tier talent.  They are the closest in roster quality to Texas Proud.  Kirk Cousins at QB, Ezekiel Elliot at RB, A.J. Green at WR, and Zach Ertz at TE is enough to match up well against anyone.  Picking the top two teams for this week’s Power Rankings was relatively easy.

3 – Raider in the North

Currently ranked 3rd overall with a 4-4 record, and 752.13 total points for the Season.

This was the first difficult position in the Rankings to figure out.  With LeSean McCoy, Tyreek Hill, and Rob Gronkowski as their star players for the majority of the Season.  Raider in the North is obviously competitive.  It was the recent addition of Jerick McKinnon that has moved them up to number 3 in the Power Rankings.  Do not underestimate this team.  They have the potential to win it all.

4 – Cobe Life

Currently ranked 5th overall with a 4-4 record, and 897.05 total points for the Season.

Why am I ranking my team fourth?  The only team that has scored more points than mine is Texas Proud.  Tom Brady, Le’Veon Bell, and Chris Thompson have kept me competitive.  Recent injuries have left me with a question mark at Wide Receiver.  Can Fitzgerald, Diggs, or Garcon return to early Season form?  At least one of them will have to if I’m to stand a chance at winning the championship.  Still the Brady and Bell combination just scares everyone.  Well everyone except Texas Proud, and The Bottom Feeders.

5 – Aegon Targaryan

Currently ranked 2nd overall with a 6-2 record, and 847.98 total points for the Season.

It’s all about their two Running Backs Todd Gurley, and Carlos Hyde.  They have simply been stellar.  Although they haven’t posted too many breakout games their Wide Receiver corps are sneaky good as well.  All it would take is just one or two of them to start playing to their potential for Aegon Targaryan to win the championship.

6 – In Dak we Trust

Currently ranked 8th overall with a 3-5 record, and 769.88 total points for the Season.

How is it that I’m rating a team with a losing record so high.  Well In Dak we Trust has Alex Smith, Mark Ingram, and Antonio Brown for starters. A fresh Doug Martin makes his team just a little stronger, and he has Christian McCaffrey as a solid backup, or flex play.  They are so stacked at Running Back that it wouldn’t surprise me if a key trade  can further improve this team before the Playoffs.

7 – Geezer Domination

Currently ranked 5th overall with a 4-4 record, and 787.03 total points for the Season.

Geezer Domination has had a very up, and down Season due to injuries, and quality acquisitions.  Deshaun Watson, and Will Fuller make for a potentially strong 1-2 punch.  Jordan Howard, and Devonta Freeman provide him with a strong duo of Running Backs.  Another strong Wide Receiver might be all this team needs to make a strong push to go deep into the playoffs.

8 – Muh Feelins

Currently ranked 11th overall with a 3-5 record, and 695.43 total points for the Season.

Another team with a losing record that still has an outside chance of getting into the playoffs.  Russell Wilson is just beginning to hit his stride, and Leonard Fournette should be ready to come back strong after a couple weeks of rest.  Muh Feelins really needs to upgrade at Wide Receiver to hope to compete.  If they can get into the playoffs there’s a slim chance that they could get David Johnson back from injury.

9 – Watch it Burn

Currently ranked 4th overall with a 4-4 record, and 700.18 total points for the Season.

The fourth overall team comes in at ninth in my Power Rankings!  Well here’s why. The team is full of good players, but not great ones.  Injuries have limited the potential success of some of their key players going forward.  Although they are relatively well balanced, their team lacks big play Fantasy potential.

10 – Justice league of America

Currently ranked 12th overall with a 3-5 record, and 771.59 total points for the Season.

Yes they are the last place team in the league but that doesn’t necessarily make them the worst.  Recent acquisitions have really bolstered their roster, and they actually have a very good group of Wide Receivers to go with Carson Wentz at Quarterback.  When you have nothing to lose, you are free to make gutsy line up calls.  A couple quick wins and Justice league of America could be right back in it.  Keep in mind that their team has actually scored more points than half the teams in the league.  Their record is not a fair representation of their potential.

11 – Breton

Currently ranked 10th overall with a 3-5 record, and 636.10 points for the Season.

Maybe the recent Ajayi trade to Philly will improve things for Breton.  Outside of Dak Prescott, and Alvin Kamara there isn’t much to be excited about on their team.  They are the lowest scoring team in the league.  The only reason they aren’t at the bottom of the Rankings is because their team is healthier than the last placed team in the Rankings.

12 – Ball Breakerz

Currently ranked 9th overall with a 3-5 record, and 700.07 total points for the Season.

Somebody has to be last, and Ball Breakerz is definitely it.  The highlight on their team is Aaron Rodgers, and well he’s basically done for the Season.  His backup Quarterback is Matt Stafford and he isn’t exactly 100% either.  His best Wide Receiver is T.Y. Hilton but without Andrew Luck feeding him the ball his ceiling is limited.  Basically anything that could go wrong for Ball Breakerz has gone wrong.

It’s far from over

The reality is that not one single team is statistically eliminated.  Everyone can still make the playoffs.  Sure there are favourites, but this is football, and anything can happen.  Make the right trade, or pick up the right Player off the waiver wire, and you could finish the Season as the Champion.

Remember if you would like to be considered for prize support.  You need to respond to this Post with your Fantasy Team name, Favourite NFL Team, and Division Winner predictions.

Good luck!
